New images of the Geely EX5 reveal a spacious front trunk positioned beneath the bonnet, reflecting a growing trend among Chinese automakers of incorporating dedicated front storage in electric vehicles. While precise volume specifications remain undisclosed, markings indicate a maximum load capacity of 50 kg, compared to the 70-liter frunk offered in the smaller EX2 model.
Structural revisions indicate adoption of a rear-wheel-drive configuration. Relocation of the charging port from the front fender to the rear reinforces this architectural shift. The TZ184QY301 electric motor mounted on the rear axle delivers peak output of 245 kW (329 hp), representing a 114 hp improvement over the outgoing model. Maximum velocity increases from 175 km/h to 201 km/h.
The new vehicle measures 4636 × 1920 × 1670 mm with a 2750 mm wheelbase, positioning it 21 mm longer than its predecessor. Updates include revised bumpers, semi-concealed door handles, and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor supporting the G-ASD G-Pilot H5 assisted driving system with Navigate On Autopilot capabilities across urban and highway environments. Integrated side cameras on the front fenders and roof spoiler complete the sensor array.
Geely Galaxy's PR leadership confirmed the new generation retains familiar styling but emphasizes that the model has "undergone comprehensive overhaul and upgrade of underlying structure, internal components, and electronic systems." The refreshed EX5 enters the Chinese market on 21 September 2026.
