Tesla App Now Shows Supercharger Site Maps Before You Arrive
Tesla has rolled out Live Site Maps in its smartphone app version 4.61.0, allowing owners to preview Supercharger layouts and real-time stall availability before arrival. The feature displays occupancy status, out-of-service posts, and which Tesla model is charging at each bay, removing previous hardware barriers that limited the view to newer vehicles with AMD Ryzen infotainment systems.
Tesla owners can now preview Supercharger locations directly through their smartphones using version 4.61.0 of the Tesla app, launched in September 2026. The Live Site Maps display stall positions, real-time occupancy status, out-of-service bays, and which Tesla model occupies each charging post.
Previously available only on vehicle displays with AMD Ryzen infotainment processors, the feature's arrival on smartphones removes a significant hardware barrier. Owners of older Model 3 and Model Y vehicles without the newer processor can now access the same informational previews without purchasing a new vehicle. The pilot program began with California and Texas during the 2025 Holiday Update before expanding nationwide.
The addition offers practical benefits for travelers seeking less congested stations or faster charging availability. Users can evaluate potential Supercharger locations by open stalls, ADA accessibility, and site layout before arrival, eliminating the need to drive through crowded lots to find suitable charging positions. The smartphone interface remains simpler than the in-vehicle 3D canvas but serves the same informational purpose. Tesla does not offer stall reservation through the app, and the maps do not alter charging speeds.
