The one-minute read

BYD unveiled the ATTO 8 at the Paris Auto Show, a full-sized SUV accommodating seven occupants with genuine leather seats throughout. The vehicle measures 5040mm long, 1996mm wide and 1760mm tall. Its exterior features ultra-slim integrated daytime-running lights and matrix LED headlights above a sharply angled lower bumper, complemented by a pronounced shoulder line running the profile, infinity knot tail-lights with an illuminated central BYD badge, and an integrated roof spoiler.

The cabin incorporates a 2.39-square-metre panoramic glass roof providing abundant natural light. The dashboard combines crisp angles with soft-touch materials including suede leather. Technology includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 26-inch widescreen head-up display, and 15.6-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in services for navigation, voice assistance and app access. Front seats feature heating, ventilation and massage functions, mirrored in the middle row's outer seats. Third-row seats include adjustable headrests, rear climate control and cup holders. The front offers dual 50W wireless charging and dual 60W USB-C ports; rear accommodates additional Type-C ports at 18W and 60W. A 10-speaker audio system equips the Design RWD variant; the Excellence AWD features a 21-speaker DiSound system.

Two all-electric powertrains define availability. The Design RWD combines a single rear motor rated 462PS (340kW) and 365Nm torque—achieving 0–100km/h in eight seconds—with 653km WLTP Combined range. The Excellence AWD adds a front motor, raising total output to 775PS (570kW) and 775Nm torque, delivering 4.6-second 0–100km/h acceleration whilst maintaining 602km range. Both variants employ a 115kWh second-generation Blade Battery.

FLASH Charging technology distinguishes the ATTO 8. It charges from 10% to 70% in five minutes and 10% to 97% in nine minutes; even at -30°C, 20–97% charging requires approximately 12 minutes. BYD plans 3000 charging stations across Europe by end-2027. European dealerships will commence sales in Q1 2027. The vehicle is not yet available for purchase as of today.
